<p>Lagers take time and careful consideration. We&rsquo;ve been working on Short Sands for years - calculating the ideal balance of floral and fruity, malty and toasty. Clean, crisp esters from a low and slow fermentation, classic German malts and noble hops for the barest touch of malt sweetness. <p>What is Tide Land? It&rsquo;s the place where the land meets the sea, a confluence of life forces (fresh and salt water) in a landscape built by centuries of erosion and transformation. What is Tide Land, the beer? The place where stout meets barrel aged stout, a confluence of the rich, nuanced flavors of 15 month barrel aged imperial stout and fresh, young, low-ABV stout. The mountains, the rivers, the salmon, the sometimes uncomfortable but ultimately committed union of agriculture and culture-culture that makes this region mildly problematic but also lovable. And what better way to pay tribute to the symbolic marriage of our two great states of Oregon and Idaho&hellip; than beer. Fort Boise began as a dream in 2022. <p>When hop scientists in New Zealand began working on a top secret thiol-enriched blend of Phantasm thiol powder and fruit-forward Motueka hops, they never expected that the high concentrations of cysteine bound 3SH precursors and terpene alcohols would create a chain reaction of flavor perception that would cause the hops to become&hellip; dangerously flavorful.&nbsp;</p>
